Common Questions for Chefs

How do I get Fresh Origins® products for my business?

We work with 300+ specialty produce distributors and broadlines across the United States and Canada. The first step to purchasing products from Fresh Origins® is to reach out to your favorite produce distributor and ask about Fresh Origins®. If you can't find a distributor in your area, contact us at info@freshorigins.com and a representative will help you find the best point of purchase.

What is the shelf life for your products?

Fresh Origins® has an extensive catalog of products. Typically, our flowers and microgreens have a 7 to 14 day shelf-life. Refrigerating upon arrival will maximize the product shelf-life. We ship overnight Monday through Friday to our specialty produce distributors and broadliners. For information on shelf-life of other products, please contact us at infro@freshorigins.com

What food safety and other certifications do you hold?

Food Safety is top of mind throughout every department on the farm. We are third party certified through the PrimusGFS Audit Standard which follows the Global Food Safety Initiative and also a signatory of the California Leafy Green Marketing Agreement. We are audited multiple times per year for adherence to their food safety audit systems and are upheld to the most stringent specifications in the nation. Our Herb®, Flower® and Fruit Crystals® are certified Kosher.

Are you certified Organic?

We are not certified organic, however we do adhere to the CA Leafy Green Marketing Agreement, which sets stringent food safety standards, as well as the highest agricultural safety standard, Global Food Safety Initiative. we also test our products through PrimusLabs.

When can we expect deliveries?

We harvest and pack orders daily, Monday through Friday, for overnight delivery to your specialty produce distributor or broadliner. Please contact your supplier for their lead time to process an order.

Can I receive a price list for all of your products?

Please reach out directly to your produce distributor for pricing.

Can I purchase directly from Fresh Origins and bypass a distributor?

Your local produce distributor is your best choice but we do partner with Food Innovations, GourmetSweetBotanicals and Marx Foods as a way for individuals to purchase our products without going through a distributor.

What new and innovative items do you offer?

We are constantly innovating and typically launch between 3-5 new items per year. You can find these new items in the 'Seasonal Favorites' tab of this website, or in our weekly Newsletters, which can be accessed by filling out the form located at the bottom of our website.

Is there a way to be notified of new items or seasonal item availability?

The best way to stay up-to-date on what is happening at our farm is by subscribing to our weekly newsletter, which can be accessed by filling out the form at the bottom of our website.

Is someone available to help me with item selection from Fresh Origins®?

Our team is always available to talk about our products and give recommendations. Reach out via email at info@freshorigins.com.

How are your items grown?

All of our items are grown using traditional farming methods that utilize natural sunlight, water and a proprietary soil combination.

What makes Fresh Origins® different from other farms?

Our 20+ years of farming experience and our sunny, ideal climate allows us to grow over 450 different microgreens and edible flowers under natural sunlight 365 days a year. The result is darker, richer greens with short stems, broad leaves and robust flavor. Side by side comparisons don't lie!

Do you partner with chefs or restaurants on special events?

Absolutely, please reach out to our marketing team by emailing info@freshorigins.com to work with us on elevating your next event. Our team is eager to partner with you, share ideas, product, and start a partnership!

Are all of your products edible?

All of our products are edible with the exception of our decorative orchids, which are outstandingly beautiful but not recommended to consume.

My produce supplier does not carry Fresh Origins®. Will you set them up as a distributor so I can work with you?

Absolutely. If you have a produce distributor that is interested in carrying Fresh Origins®, please feel free to point them in the direction of our Common Questions area for distributors and we'll take it from there!
